Hi all

I've been on the lookout for an eyepiece in the 5mm bracket, to help split tight doubles and wasn't sure what to for. I saw an ad on Cloudynights for a 4.8mm Nagler, type one, here's an image of the eyepiece:

This is an older eyepiece, the seller was asking $100 and $10 to ship it, less than €90, I couldn't turn it down.
The seller has put it in the post and should be here in a week or so.
Looking forward to its arrival and I'll let you know how it performs.

Good luck with it when it arrives, I bought a 9mm and 16mm Nagler a while ago, no regrets
bought them second hand also, hope it performs well for you

The eyepiece arrived this morning, tomorrow night I plan to be at the Sandymount observing session, the weather is promsing good, so it should get a workout.

Great stuff, Paul. Now blow us away with it. Liam Smyth issued me with a challenge recently. Split Almach (Gamma Andromedae)into 3 components. I haven't had a chance to try it yet with the 158mm APO. But then again, it might require a 3 mm Radian.

Goodness me, John. They truly are closing is on one another.

Thank you for the information. I do seem to remember splitting B & C sometime back in the 1980's with 300X in a very new 6" reflector. But I am not sure about that. I wonder was it possible back then.
