Bubble Nebula was created by Kinch
On the 1st Feb I managed to get in enough subs to do two images. The Monkey Head nebula was the second captured because initially I was shooting to the NW on this one - away from the moon. I managed to get in 9 x 15 minute subs on this before it got a little too low. Although I was sorry that I had not more time on the Monkey Head nebula I am now pleased enough that my time shooting this was not wasted.
This is 3 each Ha, SII, OIII. (I have yet to get into the habit of doing flats. Darks should not be required with the Atik 460EX camera).
I use Sequence Generator pro as my capture software and processing is done in PixInsight.
Below is a link to a higher res picture on Flickr as usual - but also if you look at my album there you will find a couple of other images - including the wider FoV shot that this was cropped from.

Excellent images Brendan. I love the Monkey head too. But the one attached here of the bubble nebula is really fantastic. Great work.

I spent a number of hours working on the next step. I had old 'Bubble Nebula' data from a previous attempt. I wanted to mix the RGB data with the NB data to try get a more pleasing shot. (The RGB data was not that great - see further down my Flickr page for that particular shot - from January 2014).
After a few attempts I came up with this:
It is worth comparing the narrow band image with this one. They are side by side on Flickr.

I have just noticed that there is a huge difference in how Internet Explorer and Chrome show the Flickr Images (probably all images). Chrome is so much better - it looks like I.E. is compressing the image or something.....quite a big loss of detail. Does anyone else notice that?

I have seen this before with Firefox, IE and Chrome, I also noticed that different monitors show them different ways in different browsers, for example Dell monitors suck big time at showing images properly through Firefox, I replaced all three of my screens in my home office for Acer ones and never seen the issue since
