M51 was created by phoenix
Since last night was clear and no asteroid targets available I swung the scope onto M51. It took 2 hours for the scope to cool down and I lost 6 x 5 minute frames to soft focus. Ended up wit 18 x 4 minute exposures before I decided to pack up in order to rise for work today. Out of practice on the processing but results below.

If that's out of practice I look forward to seeing more.
Focus looks razor-sharp, do you use a mask or some other focus aid?

Great shot Kieran - you really captured great detail for that exposure time. Nothing wrong with that processing job either
