With the closure of the April 2014 Astrophotography Competition, it is time to judge the entries. Please view the photos below and cast your vote on the Poll included. Mars #1

What you are actually seeing is the conjunction between planets Mars (red) and Mercury (yellow) on the evening of February 8th 2013. Taken just outside Cork City with an iPod touch camera through a Celestron Astromaster 130EQ telescope using a 20mm eyepiece.



Mars #2

Taken through a 200mm f8 Reflector with 2.5 barlow. Stacked 3750 frames out of 8000 on 24th April 2014 12.20 a.m. Software: Firecapture ,AS!2, Registax 6 and a clean up in PS CS3

Mars while imaging through a C8.



Mars #4

Taken on 23rd April 2014 with an Orion 9.25, ASI120MC camera, UV/IR cut filter.
