Hi all
With Mars being occulted by the moon early Thursday morning, starting about 4.55am, anyone planning to view it? A good western view is required, anyone got any suggestions for a good site around the Dublin area.
Uranus is occulted by the moon on Monday afternoon starting at 4.50pm, even if you don't get to see the occultation, this is a great opportunity to view Uranus, especially if you have never observed the planet before, as the moon makes a great guide post.

A little early for me. Would the Sugarloaf be a good spot (not technically Dublin).
Michael.

What a beautiful sight and image, Finbarr!
I'm sure seeing the Moon and Mars lowering over the Atlantic Ocean was a great help.
For various reasons I didn't observe this occultation.
Very best regards from Aubrey.

I set the alarm for four, I looked out the window, yep, clouds. I decided to wait nother half an hour to see if things improved, nope, no change.
I have devised a mathemathical formula to explain this, I call it Byrne's First Law of Causality:
Astronomical event + Ireland = Cloud, I plan to send it to the relevant scienfitic body for publication.
