New Comet to keep an eye on. was created by Calibos
New comet ISON could be the Northern Hemispheres McNaught beater.

....Or could be a damp squib....

Only time will tell. In 14 months we'll know for sure :D

Looks like we have struck gold, if its doing to be anything like Hale Boop or Hyakutake were about 15 years ago its going to be an absolute cracker

There is talk that it might not survive such a close track around the sun. Theres talk that it could be a damp squib like a much hyped comet in the 70's.

However, theres also talk of this not just being a once in a lifetime comet but a once in a civilisations lifetime comet.

Like you said though, as long its as good as Hale Bopp I'll be happy enough

I really hope this one works out, there have be a number of recent no show-ers,
But, if this thing is half as good as some think it might be, it could make McNaught look like a firecracker :silly:

Unfortunately you have to careful with comets, they have a habit of promising much and failing to deliver.

David Levy's comment comes to mind

"Comets are like cats; they have tails, and they do precisely what they want"

Im cautiously optimistic about this one though
