Its usually called Aurora's, thats the way i would say it and i mostly see that on the internet aswell, tho i have seen the expression Aurorae used a few times before

Aurorae is the offical name for northen light displays which i have read within many astronomical text books. Im not sure how auroras came to be though? I thought auroras was just jargon however as the previous post said both are widley used...confusing? I think so.
