Einstein@Home Goes Live was created by gnugent
A new computing project called Einstein@Home has been launched which will let sanyone with a PC to contribute to cutting edge astrophysics research. The program searches data from the US Laser Interferometer Gravitational wave Observatory (LIGO) and the British/German GEO-600 gravitational wave observatory for signals coming from very dense, rapidly rotating compact quark and neutron stars.

Strange, my testing account still works.

Anyway there is an IFAS team at einstein.phys.uwm.edu/team_display.php?teamid=1076 if anyone would care to join.

Al - I joined the EAW IFAS team but I see that it has no credit, whilst you personally have 700 odd... I'm joining with 360 odd credit.

Do you know how it works?

By the way, is there an IFAS SETI account I could join?

Cheers

Al - found the SETI team and joined up. So IFAS credit just increased!

Still don't get the EAH credit system...

There was a _lot_ or arguing over how this should work during BOINC development. I _think_ they settled on only giving the team credit for credit you did while you were with the team. Also if you later leave the team your credit stays with the team.

Guess we'll see if we get credit for work after the team was created...

Cheers,
~Al
