The members of KAS are aware that i am doing a workshop on astro software. I have decided to gear it towards freeware and other resources that i have collected from the net from sites such as astrotips and the like. I am planning on having a CD available on the night for KAS members containing all the resources used on the night. And freely available through here to any other member clubs. There will be no charge to post it out. The query i have is would anyone mind if i include the IFAS observing challanges on this cd referencing this site and authors of same of course.

have to be careful about such things- Even though a lot of those programs are freeware the license still stipulates that they cannot be distributed without the authors permission. Just don't get snagged by the red tape...
Good point dave hadn't thought of that. But as they are been given free to members and highlighted that they are free with the links to the supporting site and no money exchanges hands i cant see too much of a problem. I'll start mailing tonight just to verify though.

Feel free to use the Observing Challenges stuff Jim; that's what it's there for after all. Every club should have a cd containing these challenges anyway. They're being updated for WSP, so we'll get more to everyone then.
Just to allay any fears re licenceing (yea i know spelling :roll: ) was able to contact most of the authours and they all said go for it once i'm not charging it's the same as downloading anyway and the more the merrier.
