Some encouraging news for later from met.ie for the Dublin area.
Rain dying out, skies clearing at times. Winds easing a good deal. Becoming cooler.

Hopefully we'll get one of the holes in the cloud heading our way

hmmmm, Much as I'd love some clear skies tonight, I wont be holding my breath. That feature off to the north west coast of Donegal, on the 16:00 pic is a wave depression which indicates there is some more rain to come before any clear skies.
Still stranger things have happened!!

Don't forget to tie down your telescope with good stout ropes if it does clear up... it's a bit blowy out!

Better that old people should die of talk than to have young people die in war.

Guys, let's not complain too much about the weather. Goose Bay in Labrador is at roughly the same latitude as Dublin. It's -29C there today and the best temperature expected this month is -9C on the 30th.
