The next Tullamore Astronomical Society meeting will be as follows:

Preserving Ireland's Dark Skies by Mr. Albert White of ILPAC

Venue: Order of Malta Training Room , Tanyard, Tullmore.
Time: 8pm

This will be an informal information night on all aspects of how Light Pollution is and will affect us all if proper non-draconian measures are not adequately taken. All are welcome to attend, admission is free, and there will be light refreshments afterwards.

Where in tulamore is Tanyard though?


In the center of town, opposite the Bridge Center next to the Bridge House, you have O'Connor Square carpark. Turn in here, and instead of doubling back on yourself, take the back entrance/exit, and you are now in The Tanyard, as indicated by the map!

Just to add that if it is clear (i.e. no clouds!), we hope to have some light observing from the car park after the lecture, so bring any scopes or binos.
