Possible Star Party Glendalough on Saturday 7th March was created by DeirdreKelleghan
Hi there
I have been very busy, no time to do a poster for this.
On Monday and Tuesday night I did my Saturn Observation Campaign thing in Walkinstown and Raheny. The forecast was dismal but a few people who lingered after my talk on Monday got to see Venus, the Moon and M42 in my scope.
Tuesday the forecast was even worse, I was considering not bringing the scope. However it was clear for a while after my talk so my audience about 26 people got to see Venus , the Moon and Saturn.
Now I have a Star Party on the cards for this Saturday coming in the Upper Lake Car Park at Glendalough just like last year.
The forecast is terrible , I have to make a call at around 1pm on Saturday afternoon, Go not Go . 100% cloud is forecast
If it is clear I will need a few people to arrive with scopes , is anyone free to help out for it?
It will be a difficult decision , unless it is lashing rain
Let me know if you can be on stand by for it , thanks

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

OK sadly the Irish weather has meant that I have had to cancel this Public Star Party.
I will organize an alternate date with the National Park as soon as possible.

You know what's funny Deirdre, I have clear skies here since leaving a friends house in Bray after 10:30pm this evening...
Well, maybe YOU won't find it funny, but you know what I mean!
