Folks,
has anyone been looking at Tempe 1 lately? I know its in Virgo, but I actually haven't been out observing in a few weeks. Recent news says that the Deep Impact impact WILL be seen in binoculars, so I imagine people here will have their equipment ready to have a look for it on the night after impact?
Dave McDonnald,
didn't you take a picture of the comet recently? I couldn't find it here...
Seanie.

Seanie,
I'm waiting patiently for this, hopefully it will be clear after the impact.
If it is, then we'll have the equipment ready for action.

Dave,
I'm glad to hear you're prepared! I hope that if I get the ETX from Dave Grennan that I will be able to have my slr mounted to take a pic of it! Also, hopefully, I'll be in time to get it for this years best conjunction on June 26th/27th!
Keith,
heavens above has a good finder chart, but as you probably know, it only has such charts on a current day by current day basis. I haven't scoured the net properly to find a chart for where Temple 1 will be located on the day of impact, but I am sure Redshift or Starry Night Pro can show that in advance??

Hi Seanie - yes, I got an image a few weeks back. I actually can't remember the mag at the time but it was a bit of a bugger to find. I took the image on 30th May.
I actually can't find the original post either. Must be losing it altogether...
Anyway, anyone going out on 4th July, here's what the comet looked like before being impacted...
Cheers
