Anybody See Comet NEAT Yet? was created by Keith g
NEAT is coming quicky, anybody see it yet?, I've already got reports that it's visible from the states at about 40 degrees latitude, at about 3rd magnitude. It's very low still for us now in the SW-West, I'm going to try to see it tonight. It's to the left Sirius, a bit lower down.

Clouds as usual here in galway, a large veil of high Cirrus cloud prevented us seeing Comet NEAT, Anybody fair better further East, im sure D.M is making the best of the clear skies at the "biggest astronomical event in the country" ya right!
Just curious has anyone spotted the debatable ashen light on Venus, was looking at it tonight, thought i could see it but probably a trick of the eye.

ronan,
he probably is as it is clear here in dublin. the only thing it shows though is that there is interest and even people willing to pay for what all clubs do for free. we are just going to have to make bigger noises and show people there are alternatives.

Tried for NEAT tonight but a low band of cloud hugged the horizon and blocked any chances. More confidence for the next few nights if it just remains clear. Lovely view of crescent Venus, but no sign of ashen light.

Hi,
Had a look also, but no sign yet,
Venus was looking nice though, you could almost imagine the rest of the darkened globe, nice illusion.
Accoreding to the Sky at Night (one just an hour ago), this comet should be more easily visible as the month goes on.
