Wow! Now I know why people rave about hydrogen alpha solar viewing.
Partly due to our lack of clear night skies for the last few months I finally took the h-alpha plunge. Our friendly postman arrived today with a 2nd hand PST. Rushed right out the back to take a look through it. I can't believe the views from this tiny scope. It's incredible, prominences were almost 3D in appearance.
I'm hooked already. Let's hope it doesn't lead to h-alpha fever.
Here's my first pic of 904 and a couple f closeby prominences - taken as soon as I could get it out of it's case. Must work more on the focussing & make a sunshade as it's very soft, but I must say I'm very pleased by this scope. What a bargain & despite my expectation it's very sturdy.
Neximage, Celestron 2x barlow + PST, stacked in Registax.
Strange I was expecting it to rain for 3 weeks as soon as it arrived

A good first image Trevor, It's definitely addictive, it's great to get a tan while observing, it beats frost bite and insomnia any day of the week.

Cheers guys. Good to be able to sit back with a drink in a tshirt and observe at the same time.
Darren, I spotted a Maxscope 90 on Astromart if you get the bug in a BIG way. Only $12000 for a 90mm scope!!!!
