Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hey, hey
Well, after spendng the summer skirting the southern horizon, it's nice to see the moon attaining a decent altitude in the sky once more, I can hear the grinding teeth of deep skyers as I type this, the arch nemesis of the faint fuzzy plaguing the sky.
For those of us who love our satellite, and there are plenty of us out there, the prospect of surfing over the lunar seas and climbing the mountains without having to look through the muck of the atmosphere is one to cherish.
So here's one who says, "hooray, the moon's back".

Paul,
The moon and sun go through their regular "opposites" ... when the sun is high during summer, the moon is low and vice versa during winter.
With my new DMK which recently just arrived, I am also eager to get back to lunar imaging after a two-year (at least) hiatus.

Only city people don't know the seasons.
They are to be looked down on and pitied.
I removed myself to dark skies.

Leave poor George alone, he has enough troubles.
Did you see the picture of him on the front page of the Times this morning? Wouldn't that make an excellent caption contest.
