Hi all, I saw Lulin on Friday night last at abot 11pm, and it sure was impressive, in my 15x70mm binoculkars, it was at least magnitude 5.5, and about the width of the full moon, but very diffuse looking.
I've just had an hours worth of cloud free skies, and now it's clouded in again
It will be just under Saturn tonight !!
Keith..

Just observed this guy again tonight.
It's actually a little more diffuse since a few days ago.
I did think about imaging it but after a quick check of the
satellite imagery the clouds are on the way again.

You guys have all the luck.
I woke at 3am last night to the first clear skies I've seen in weeks. (Well, clear to the S, SE and SW, anyway.)
I threw on a bathrobe, booted up AstroPlanner to familiarize myself with where Lulin should be now, and grabbed my 18x70s. It was later than I thought, so the view out the back showed Corona Borealis, Bootes and Virgo. Headed to a west-facing window, found Leo's tail, Saturn, and the clouds where Lulin should be.
5 minutes later all of Leo was lost; 15 minutes later it was overcast from horizon to horizon.
Dang it!
-- Jeff.

Spotted with binoculars a short while ago, even with light pollution from Cork it was easy enough to find, taking the telescope out in an hour or so for a look
