Well actually there is! With such relief that I found this last night, I am under siege lately from 'problematic' neighbours with their on all night lights - this is a good way to keep you happy :D

Build a light shield!! Why I did'nt think of this earlier I don't know :?

You can make it from PVC pipes, as high as you like, lightweight, or fill with sand for the breeze, cheap, and place it where you want to.

Mine is going to be 8ft high!!!

i was just out trying the 300d camera ;)

30 sec exposure, and  i could see the light reflecting off the clouds. Not much u can do about the light that goes up, but light hitting right in your eyes while observing is maybe worce.

Thx for the link :) Will try this out.

way to go Keith !!

Make it as big as possible. if they want the "unsightly" wall removed then they must remove the light :)

I like it. It probably also has a big effect on reducing any wind buffeting the scope during an exposure. Just make sure you weight down the feet sufficiently - you could maybe fill the feet pipes with old lead fishing weights and sand. Or for use on a grass surface use tent pegs to anchor the feet.
