Hi,
While out looking at the moon last night I noticed that there were lights shinig up on the clouds around dublin.
Does anyone know what gobshite is responsible for putting a half dozen or so spotlights shining straight up into the sky batman style?
Cheers,
~Al

I think it's something to do with the celebrations marking the expansion of the EU. I think I saw something about it in yesterdays newspaper.
I think it's planned for all this weekend, if my memory serves me correctly.

It's also interactive!!! You get to control the direction of the lights over the internet... though the interface sucks.

Vectorial Elevation is an interactive artwork that allows participants to transform the sky over Dublin, Ireland. Using a three-dimensional interface, this web site lets you design huge light sculptures with 22 robotic searchlights located on and around O’Connell Street. A web page is made for each participant with photos of their design from four cameras located around the city. The piece will be live from April 22 to May 3, 2004 to celebrate the expansion of the European Union.

Because ignorance is bliss, Bart. I was shocked to still see them in Maynooth last night, to say the least....
