Looking for examples of good lighting was created by albertw
Hi,
I'm redoing the ILPAC web page at the moment and one thing I'm short of is examples of good lighting in use. Perhaps some folks here could take a few photos of where lighting has been done correctly near you?
Perhaps you live near a motorway where the NRA have installed FCO lights? Is there a security light near you that is acutally pointing straight down? Has your town installed some FCO streetlights?
As always I'm interested also in the truly spectacular bad examples, but I also want to show how lighting can be done right, so any images would be appreciated.
Cheers,
~Al

Those living along the M4 route between Kinnegad and Enfield should take a note of the use of Full Cut-Off lighting. Smart move there by the NRA (Sarcasm not used).

Full cut-off lighting is used for most major schemes now.
For purposes of photographs, it shows really well during fog.

Along the new N6 dual carriageway (which is structurally at motorway standard for the most part) from Kinnegad to Kilbeggan is barely using semi FCO's. Lord knows what it will be like when the next stretch to Moate will be like in a few months.

When did those lights go in? The NRA say they only use FCO's. If they are within the last year or so can you write to the relavent council and the NRA can ask for them to be replaced with FCO's? email me if you want to discuss what to put in the letter.

Sounds good Albert. Thre stretch was opened to Tyrrellspass around February, The stretch to Kilbeggan in May. I didn't notice any FCO's at all. If they are, then perhaps they are angled incorrectly.
