Sean - I would think twice about buying from A&S and would only do so if I didn't have a choice. I'll give andromeda Optics a shout.
By the way - I sent a mail back to Met Eireann requesting astro forecasts:
Dear Sir/Madam - I asked some time ago if Met Eireann could provide astronomical weather forecasts for astronomers in Ireland. I received a reply saying it was being looked into but I've heard nothing back yet.
I'd like to re-iterate my request if I may. There are a number of organisations in Ireland that would very much appreciate this service including www.irishastronomy.org who represent the majority of amateur astronomy groups in Ireland.
I hope that Met Eireann can help in providing such a service - which could benefit the general population on nights like tonight when there's a strong possibility of auroral activity over Ireland!
Many thanks for your attention.
David McDonald
Hope you like the reference...

Thankyou for your kind words Dave and welcome to the site. i think getting there is very much the opperative phrase, I have a list of stuff to do soon the length of my arm and a list of really cool ideas for te future the length of my other arm but right now my PHD is really getting in the way of my work on this site as is work and the realities of having to struggle to make ends meet. By this time next year I expect to be Dr. Bart who has much more free time and I hope to really be able to turn this place into what it has been in my head for a very long time now.

Traffic Alert
Looks like the roads in and out of Dublin will be more or less impassable this weekend. Just got this A.I. email notifying me of the Astro Expo;
