In the near future, do you think this will come in for debate in Ireland on a national scale? I know some county councils are taking it seriously, but the whole country is not.

Thanks Seanie, In my opinion it will come in for debate here in Ireland but not anytime soon, I guess there are just too many people who are completely unaware that this is becoming a serious issue (especially the ones that buy 500Watt orange lights to put in their front garden to make sure their house looks 'nice' at night)

I agree, i know the only a few co. councils have even acknowledged this, we've just got to keep up the publicity.

I'm preparing a letter to the Minister on the matter, I hope to have it finished soon....

Would there be a list of County Councils who: a) Acknowledge this problem. b) refuse to acknowledge the problem and c) Who may be unaware of the problem?
It might be impractable, but also may be of use to us in working with those Co. councils, and educating the Councils who think it isn't a problem, or who need to be enlightened (no pun intended) on the problem
