Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

It was a glorious day, a great evening and the skies remained clear. I set up the scope around 10.30, let it cool down and began to observe around 11.00. I got a view of M11, Jupiter and Saturn and the Carbon star S Scuti. Then from the south-east cloud began to bubble up, within 20 minutes the sky was overcast. Went inside and had a cup of tea, 40 minutes later, the cloud was heavier, I packed up for the night. It is so frustrating, the day promised so much it is like a deliberate act to annoy us.

Hi, Paul and Keith.
I feel your pain too.
I have lost count as to how many clear nights we are supposed to have had in recent weeks - only to discover our skies on the east coast are completely overcast!
Over the course of many nights, the 3 weather websites I use have foretold we should have clear nights after an overcast day. And it turns out they are all wrong.
I am greatly appreciative for you, Keith, for providing us with a weather satellite website called Sat 24.
I also use Zoom.earth which does much the same thing.
By the way, Paul, S Scuti is one carbon I have not yet observed.
Good catch!.
I did some small amount of observing on both Friday and Saturday nights.
I will produce that report soon.
Clear (ahem) skies from Aubrey.

I share your pain Paul. Sat in the Sugar Loaf car park last night all dressed up and nowhere to go. I reckon, over the 90 minutes I manged about 10 minutes of observing : (
