Hello, Astrokam.
I see you are completely new to www.irishastronomy.org
You have produced a very nice image of Mars.
Please send us more images in the very near future of whatever you wish to give us.
Is it possible you can give us some brief details as to where you are based and what equipment you are using, if you please?
Thank you in anticipation,
Aubrey.

Hi Aubrey
I'm based in North Tipperary about eight miles from the Leviathan in Birr Castle.I'm using an LX200 10in that I only purchased about a month ago,and have just set it up in the last few days in a sliding roof observatory I built for it.
I'm using the new Meade LPI for lunar and planetary imaging and the original DSI which I have for many years now sitting on a shelf.I used to do astrophotography back in the early noughties until my job situation changed and I drifted away from the hobby.
I will open a thread on which I will post any decent images I manage to get in the future, hopefully some better ones of Mars and I hope to get some of M42 and M51 which is one of my favourite deep sky objects, and also because it's spiral structure was discovered with the Birr telescope.
Thank you for your reply and interest,
Kevin.

Hello, Kevin!
I am so delighted you have given us your Christian name.
Wow! Your equipment is extremely good including your sliding roof observatory.
I'm sure each of us here on www.irishastronomy.org will look forward to seeing what you have for us very soon.
Please keep up the good work, Kevin.
In the meantime, please do give us another image of Mars.
Thank you!!
Aubrey.

Hi Aubrey
I took some other shots of mars before the one I posted,I was'nt using any filter just a 3x barlow,I used an 80a blue filter for the one I posted earlier,so this image is slightly more red but also more indistinct.
Hoping for clear skies and more detailed Mars images

Hi Kevin,
Welcome to the IFAS. Very well done on capturing Mars, and like Aubrey, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your images.
Clear skies,
Darren.
