M6 & M7

Has anyone seen M6 or M7 from Ireland?

Last year I was down at the Old Head of Kinsale in early June on holidays and brought the 25x100 binoculars with me. I had good views of the horizon but was unable to spot them.

Anyone else have any luck?

Myself and Mike Scully Managed to spot them earlier this year from Kerry, we were a few hunderd metres up a mountain and had clear horizons, but even then they were shrouded in haze.
used 20X80's.

Just went back over notes, M6 was easy to spot in binocs but m7 was very faint, covered in haze.

Yep, I've personally seen them on a few occasions from my home in Waterford city, and even better under a dark sky a few miles away out on the coast, but it's still hard to see them, especially M7 since it is so low, conditions have to be very clear and transparent.

Seems Like really anywhere north of say Dublin to Galway, they really are too low?

Anybody in those area's seen them?? maybe I'm wrong, but even from home, M7 is painfully low at about 3 degrees high at absolute maximum.

M6 is extreme right, M7 below that, you see the haze?

Wow, that really is a stunning shot. It always amazes me how you get so many stars into your pics. Please let me know what camera you are using, is it a cannon 350D or what? what lenses? what exposures? ad inifinitum!!!!!

Hi John, I took that shot last year with my Canon 300D, using a 50mm lens at f2.8, ISO 400. This is a single shot of 6 minutes just piggybacked on my SCT.

As you can see, both these clusters are very low
