You really know Winter is here when... was created by Seanie_Morris
...you can spot all 3 constelltions that make up the Winter Triangle (Orion, Canis Major, and Canis Minor) in full view above the horizon when it is still dark! This early on too!

On my way home from 'work' the past 2 nights, around 4:30am, the skies were clear enough to spot all 3 of these in full glory, albeit a little Moon-washed! Only during Winter can all 3 be splendidly seen as a whole. It means longer, crisp, clear nights are on the way, and some of the heavens best objects worth looking for!

Not this morning, I got up early to have a look at the early morning sky and had a peep outside to discover 100% cloud, the weather forecast got it wrong again.
