It has been so hazy down hear every clear night we have had in the last 8 days for m to try and observe this comet! No joy each time. Still, I have got tonight and tomorrow night before heading off to try again.
Has anyone else been successful at all in the past couple of days?
Seanie.

Observed Comet Lovejoy C/2007 E2 last night at 23 hrs UT (7-5-07) not too far from the Head of Draco. Easy to find.
Surface brightness rather low but still an easy object, seen at once.
Coma very slightly condensed. 9th magnitude.
25cm f/5 reflector, 9mm eyepiece.
Good Transparency.
John
ps Still waiting for U Gem to go off (negative obs - fainter than comparison 13.8 magnitude star)

Hi,
Two slight correctons.
1. Observed Comet Lovejoy at 22hrs UT not 23hrs UT
2. U Gem comparison star observed was mag 13.9, not 13.8.
... must be too early in the morning,
John
