Do they?
Not sure if anyone here saw teh Channel 4 series where they would take someone from a profession and put them in another (trading places?).
Anyhow, they got a scouse painter and decorator to become an artist. On his first night, a plum mouthed stuck up art critic took him to the Tate in London to see an exhibition. One of the exhibits was a polythen tent like structure with a frame of aluminium tubing. The critic proceeded to describe the structure/art to the Scouser. It went something like this:
"The artist is conveying a sense of space but with the juxtaposition of a boundary, meaning that whilst the viewer feels free, he/she however is trapped. The polythene sheeting and aluminium tubing denote technology - we are all trapped in technology's lair"
She turned to the Scouser and asked him what he thought.
"Its a f****** big bubble".
Laugh? I had to go change my underwear. And the look on her face was priceless.

True.
Just like the Sistine Chapel is some flat concrete with smeared colours.
