Clear here in the Burren for most of the night, in fact the night was the clearest I've seen for two years! Transparency was magical... anyway, saw around 8-10 meteors, some quite bright w/ 2-3 second trails. Only two of these appeared to originate in Perseus though... is that normal?
Also managed to view the Lagoon Nebula for the first time (I know this is out of context, but it was pretty spectacular even in a 6")

Hi Jose
I was out for a few stints last night and I noticed that earlier in the evening I was seeing more sporadic meteors than perseids. As the night wore on, there was relatively less sporadics and more perseids

Cloudy then clear then cloudy again in kerry.
Went out the front for twenty minutes or so and it was brilliantly clear. I decided to head to a dark site and went to foot of mangerton mountain. As soon as I arrived it clouded over, but I saw a number of bright perseids in the 10-15 minutes of clear sky.
All was not lost as the last 20-30 degrees of southern horizon were clear for most of the night so I spent a bit of time sweeping the area with 10X50's.
Gave up at 12.30 am and went home.

Cleared after 2200 here in Larne allowing us to see an excellent ISS pass at 2205 then as it got darker we saw over 20 Perseids in the next two hours including this one....
Many were brighter than this and at least three left smoke trails lasting a couple of seconds.
In the end we were looking at smaller and smaller areas of clear sky so we called it a night.
Clear skies,
Paul.

Wally just rang me to report they had clear skies in SW France last night and he observed the Perseids until 2:30am (local time). One particularly bright fireball had a train lasting 15 seconds.
I went to bed early as I had been doing a fair bit of travelling over the weekend. I got your text Al but only when I switched the phone on this morning
All the best,
John
