Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

It's always worth while bringing a pair of binoculars along for such an eventuality Dave, that way you can scan the parts of the sky that momentarily clear.

Dave - Sound thanks, I'd forgotten about it, I'll enter that one so!
Keith - You are one lucky sod if you have skies like that out your back garden!
I've a feeling once I get the Astrotrac in the States next month
I'll be practically living down there.
(The Burren is amazingly dark also)
Bed you say? What's that?!
I got home at about 6:30 AM.
I had a dental appointment a 9AM so I stayed up
and then headed into Limerick at 8:30.
I eventually ran out of steam at about 5:30 this evening
so I put the head down until now.
Paul - I happened to be down at the house a few months back
and the sky cleared. I couldnt believe my luck as I had no Binos
with me!!
Now I always have a Lidl pair in the glovebox.
They cam in well handy last night but with
havin' a motorized 20'' Obsession near you you
tend to leave the binos put!

I really admire you guys with all the effort you put in to travelling to dark skies and in particular the frustration you put up with when it is cloudy when you arrive.
BTW, those are splendid photos. It gives some idea as to the excellent sky conditions there in the Burren.
The skies here were also fabulous. I also managed to spend many hours imaging.

We did have a good look at Saturn, it was so sharp and bright, at 357x alot of the cassini division was there, the scope was facing into a strong wind at that time so it was shaking a small bit there. Syrtis major was very prominent on Mars and M13 was resolved but not bright due to the blue sky due to the moon. The moon itself was very detailed with craters and rills all over the surface.

I got up at 1pm today (I had today off) but I'm feeling it now,I got home at about 6:30 AM.
I dont know how you stayed awake, there is no way I could stay awake, I was out within 10 seconds of hitting the pillow.I had a dental appointment a 9AM so I stayed up
and then headed into Limerick at 8:30.
