Thats very impressive.
I can see a new area of digital 'sketching' opening up here.

... There is no sketching forum, observing reports do not usually have images. The astrophotography section seems the best place for sketches.
If I am wrong let me know. Its where I usually put them anyway.

Interesting. I've been posting my sketches (both Solar and DeepSky) in the Observing section.

We could:
1) all post in astrophotography
2) all post in observing reports
3) open a new sketching section
4) open a new solar section

I don't really have a preference, but we should probably come up with a "best practice" guideline so they'll all be in one place.

Thoughts?

Cheers,
-- Jeff.

I'd be inclined to agree with you Dee. I've posted my few sketches to date in the astrophotography sction.

I'll post a suggestion in the Feedback section and let the web team make a call on it.

Yes a clear rule for sketches would be great. I have posted in the astrophotography forum many times. Ye see the people who view in it and post in it , have often taken photographs of the subjects of my sketches.

They are often very tuned into the visual by the very nature of their work.

Sorry Jeff , I only checked into the observing section and saw you had posted several sketches there.

It's interesting for me to see a photographic image of an area or feature on the moon that I might have sketched in the same time zone. Same goes for Messier objects and Solar sketches. It's a kind of instant feedback, too see how close I really got to how the crater or maria looks.

It is only in recent times that there are more sketchers on the forum.
That's great , that's interesting, more please.
