As great as these sketches are, they are not photographs, so don't belong in the astrophotography section IMHO, I think a new Astrosketching forum is needed here.

Yeah, I get to most of the threads by clicking on the link in the "New Topic Notification" email, so I wasn't even aware we were all posting in different areas.
I might continue to post my deep sky work in the Observing section as my report usually includes notes on 5 or 6 targets and a sketch of only 1 or 2 of them.
My solar contributions, which are usually just some sketches and not much in the way of a report, might be better in the Astrophotography section. I agree that it's very interesting to compare solar (and lunar) sketches with images (unlike deep sky sketches which are usually quite different due to the greater dynamic range but significantly lesser depth of the eye).
I see Michael's put up a thread for the Web Team's comment, so we'll also see what they suggest....
Cheers,
-- Jeff.

Dee --... Sorry Jeff , I only checked into the observing section and saw you had posted several sketches there.

Welcome Despet.
I have never seen sketches like that before. They are truly incredible!
Those filaments and proms have a very 3 dimensional look to them.
Good to see that someone can get a view of the Sun these days. I think Carl's new purchase has doomed us all to clouds for a few months
Please keep posting - this is the best solar thread I've seen in a long long time!
All the best,
Trev
