Did anyone see an extremely bright fireball tonight at 1210 am, almost almost fully clouded over just with tiny breaks, I was driving home, heading North with a friend and when we both saw the whole sky light up for 2-3 seconds, must have been something big to brigheten the clouds that much, as everywhere was bright not sure what direction it was coming from, but who ever did see it got a shock. I'm talking at least mag -10 object possibly more.

Hello Ronan,
I received an email from a person in Cork saying that they saw a bright fireball in the Northern sky at about 00:15 this morning. They described it as having a large firey tail.
If it was the same object it would have been to your south (or <Fr Ted>big and far away</Fr Ted>).
Michael.

I checked the camera record here but no sign of it passing over the Dublin/Wicklow area.

Is THAT what that big bright blue flash was! :bigshock: It was a big one! I saw it (dashboard clock was at 12:11am) on my way home from the radio, heading approx southwest (as I look at Googlemaps to verify my travel path) it appeared on my right. It was cloudy from my location too but not too heavy. I did not see the protagonist due to roadside trees and hedging obscuring my line of sight directly, so I wasn't sure if it was distant lightning, a power line failing or a fireball. I guess now I know!

Did you see the fireball Stephen or just the light?
I have a spot on Midlands 103 around 11am about it this morning with Rob Elliott from the UK.
