nice observing conditions tonight was created by dave_lillis
wow, what a cool clear night it is tonight,
Anyone who is able, go out and have a look at Copernicus on the moon, its very near the terminator, showing some great splash detail, rims and surrounding craterlets, along with fra mauro hills and the southern highlands,
Jupiter is also looking fine, although there are no shadow transits or grs.

I cleaned the corrector plate and mirrors on my 12" sct scope during the week, glad I did now. B) :)
I'm using a 1.5x binoviewer with 15mm eyepieces. giving me a power of 300x

Carrying around my 20" obsession is going to kill me,
but what a way to go. :)

Enjoy!
Clouded out here. My new Vixen Polarie and mount is at the post office ready for collection. Another week of cloudy weather...

It'll probably make a nice change from the heat over there.

I was talking to my brother in Melbourne on Tuesday evening their time and it was 30 degrees!!

It was completely clear last night (Tuesday). But I wasn't free to observe. I am free tonight but it is going to be cloudy. Ah well, what can we do?

We hit 46C in Sydney a few weeks back. Hottest day in recorded history. Not much fun without air conditioning. :silly:

I got out, conditions were waaay better than the previous night, which ended quite windy and with not a lot to show for it.
Setup the scope at the back of David Lloyd gym in Clonskeagh after doing workout. Left scope outside so it was cool (2 hours outside).
Brought a huge hot chocalate with me.... calms the nerves :-)

Brave guy! I might do my 9.25... next month ;-)
Though used to be brave enough for cleaning my Orion 1/10 wave mirrors
