Regarding
this thread
from before, who wants a solar fiter made up for their scope? I have a Skylux 70mm refractor, and I have made 3 for it so far, all working fine.
They are simple but strong and effective, and all I ask is €30 each. Anyone interested in one, PM me.
Or, as in Bill's case, if you want one for a different scope, just ask, and have the outer diameter of your tube in 'mm' handy.
Cheers,
Seanie.

Hi Seanie,
I was actually looking into buying a Solar filter this week. I might take 2 of you if that's okay, one for a Meade DS2130 and another for an ETX 70. I'm not sure of the exact measurements for them, i'll find out and get back to you.
Cheers,
keith

No problem Keith, or if anyone else knows the diameter off the top of their head...

Hi Seanie,
I sent you a mail with the measurements for 2 scopes, did you get it?

I did, last week. But I haven't had time with a death in the family at the same time! So, I apologise for the slow response Keith! Did I not reply to your email? I meant to...

Sorry to hear about your loss Seanie.
You can use these safely to view the sun directly? I'll have one of them so. I may be heading west next weekend to Rooskey. Tyrellspass is only a slight detour so if it's ready I could collect from you then. If not we can arrange to meet sometime.
oops - forgot the spec - I've a Skywatcher 200mm - I'll check the external diameter and get back to you.
Just checked now - the external diameter is 235mm but the knobs for the diagonal mirror add an extra 10mm each side and they're about 2 inches below the top. How would that affect it?
