Okely dokely Dave G.
From left to right, the first three people are some members of my family.
The next person making a fuss as usual with their hands waving all over the place is Seanie Morris - bit of an attention seeker him, but don't tell him I said that to you. Next to him is myself and my girlfriend Denise. Next to Denise are Dawn and Dave Lillis who travelled up all the way from Limerick for the auspicious occasion . Finally, the fella feeding his face and eating ALL the food in the place is Dave Power.

Michael,
I was looking at my own scope pillar a few weeks ago trying to think of a use for the thread bars below the plates, before I cut them off. A sure as I'd cut them off I'd come up with a use for them, so I waited a while.
While taking one of my many trips to Maplin, I found some small plactic boxes and come up with the idea of attaching them to the end of the thread bars. (just for scale, the plates a 1 inch thick).

You can see them in the pic here below the bottom plate, they've come in very handy for storing the webcams and eyepieces when the lower plate becomes crowded.
Just thought its an idea you might use since you've got alot more space on the thread bars then I do.

Nice little touch too, instead of fumbling around for eyepieces and what have you, keep it all central in the dome!

I know this a bit late considering the age of this thread, but for those considering converting a metal shed in to an observatory see the following excellent links:

www.bangor.ac.uk/msf/the_shed.htm
I hope these help.
