My only worry is how much I could point the scope down as I have a very panoramicv iew of about 10-15 degr.
Why not organise an inaugural party whe its finished so we can all admire your work?

Just logged on to your project,am very impressed with your innovation and standard of joinery, pity I didnt see it earlier,to offer help ,but you have done a fine job, only extra bit of advice is to leave the varnish wear off totally over the next few years and then use microporous lacquer/varnish(water based)or your standard FENCELIFE it's a great product ,as the building will "breathe".
Well done
Clear skies

Eugene,
Thanks for the support. Fortunately, Dave Power knows a bit more about woodwork than I do, otherwise it would be a sad sight! I'm currently in the process of covering the structure in a lacquer (double coat) to try and protect the timber. The shorter evenings aren't helping, however, the structure is now waterproof (apart from the minor matter of hanging the door! ). I'll post another photo in the next few days once I complete the painting and have hung the door.
Clear skies,
