Hi All,
I got my issue of sky and telescope in the mail yesterday and there was an article about corrective eye surgery. This is something I was considering a few years ago as I'm very near sighted, after reading the article am I so glad I didnt go for it!!!!.
Good results are not gaurenteed, and you may end up with some very scary effects like starburst, double images, haloes etc....
i have to say that the article really scared the hell out me.
I was just wondering has anyone here gone for it and what kind of results did you get.
My eye strenght is forever changing so I would not be a suitable candidate for it.

I'm with you here Dave G - mine arrived today - which is really confusing as the mail centre here in Portlaoise processes the mail for 'down the country' so any S&Ts which ended up in Limerick would have been sorted &c. here! My wife was taling to her optician about laser eye surgery recently and he told her that it lasts for just a few years. Not sure if that's the same as the LASIK surgery dealt with in the magazine, or if it's optician propaganda, but it just reinforces my gratitude for 20/20 vision!

I have a work colleague who had laser surgery and she's delighted with the outcome.
She was a bit apprehensive before the op. though.

A good friend of mine got Laser eye treatment done and he says it's the beset thing he's ever done!
It would appear that results and opinions vary considerably on this one!

This was something I had been considering recently for when I could afford it, perhaps it needs more investigation by me before the time comes.
