Yet another pair of 'ALDI' binoculars! was created by Seanie_Morris
Thats right! While in Aldi's in Tullamore today (Sunday), on sale for €17 are a pair of Traveller 10-30 X 60 binculars. They looked the biz, and had the blue coated objective lenses.

I didn't take a pair out of the box to look at physically, but just thought I'd put in a 'heads-up!" here!

I thought that variable mag binos were to be avoided

I dont know. I got a pair of Optus 8-24 X 50's from Aldi 3 years ago, and they are superb. I use them a lot for landscapes as well as astronomy, and have served me very well.
I guess it can be down to the luck of the draw??

I have a pair of Olympus variable binos and the €20 10*50 Meade ones I got are far superior. Could just be that the Olympus aren't great quality. My comment was just based on other remarks made on this board.

on an OT note - what's the story with your .sig? Are you on commission from Argos or something? :D

Had a look at these myself in the Athlone Aldi, .... wasn't hugely impressed.
Also had a look at the Lidl (Bresser 10x50s) this evening. They seem a better pair. Bought a pair of these, even though I already have the 10x 50 Meades from last, a pair of of 10x50 Atlas Explorers, 8-24 x50 Optus from Aldi and a pair of 15x70 Skymasters........ I fear that I'm turning into a binocular freak!!! :D
