Mount imbalance problem was created by dmcdona
This guy is having issues with balancing his scope on his mount. Any suggestions?

Every mount needs a little bit of pressure on the motors for proper slewing and tracking...the little scope he has on his would weigh nothing (from the Paramount ME's point of view) If he had a 14" with proper weights...or maybe an 8" with proper weights..then there would be enough pressure on the motors for proper slewing and tracking...he should get a much smaller mount for that little scope....

I suggested using an aluminium dust cap instead of a plastic one, to add a bit more weight.

Its a very common problem, if he wishes I can take away the troublesome mount and supply him with a well balanced camera tripod, it would solve all his problems.
