Wind shelter was created by JohnMurphy
Last night while trying to view Jupiter in between intermittent seeing the scope was being buffeted by gusty winds, eventually I gave up and went back inside - not satisfactory.

So today while in Lidl I picked up a beach tent perfect for the job for only €8.99. It'll act as a good wind break - essential for webcamming. It folds up into a neat little bag, doesn't take up any space and is very lightweight - just the ticket. I especially liked the fact that it's under a tenner. I'll let you know how this goes next night I get out. Either way for that price I haven't lost anything, if it's no good for the job, the kids can play with it.

There was severe winds here last night also, I think you'll need concrete blocks to hold the shelter down so it doesnt get blown away. :)

Ideal testing conditions last night - no one in their right mind was out last night except me and my Lidl tent (I rest my case about right minds). I used that as a test just to make sure it wouldn't get blown away. A couple of times the wind literally flattened this thing, but it popped right back up again. So the result of test number one - not very practical because it was too severe to bring a scope out but this thing will survive a major gale.
