Hi, does anyone know of a laptop controlable electric focuser (besides RoboFocus) : maybe like the JMI focusers but laptop controlable :

If it is already controllable via a PC, then yes, it should also be the same via a laptop. Beware though - there are astronomy gizmo's that use a serial port connection. This is now considered 'legacy' due to USB, and almost all new laptops do not have a serial port anymore.
(the similar-looking serial port that IS on a laptop is for an external monitor or digital projector)

I seen FLI focuser alright Dave, but very nasty to the pocket..the SBIG ST-2000XCM (probably getting) will be hard enough on my current budget

I hear ya Marty. Unfortunately, in this game, if you want quality, you have to dig deep
I heard that the JMI focuser was very good - I think that's a reasonable price. Robofocus also seem to get reasonable reviews too.
