Sooorry!
I've probably extended the recent cloudy night stretch by procuring a pair of Celestron 15x70s and a tripod for same today.
Bought these from Argos (got the last pair in stock) for €140 complete with Hamas tripod. Looking forward to a decent night (comin' our way soon - I hope) to give them first light.

Youth?? Why thank you Dave - I've been on this planet for 41+ years now so I can't plead youthful indulgence. Not that I feel like a wrinkly mind you. But I don't think new binos have the same effect on cloud cover as a new scope does so I think some slack can be excised.

Have fun with the Skymasters John. They are a marvellous binocular and a wonderful mid-range instrument between the hand-held 10x50s and "giants" that I have. I used my Skymasters at the RTMC star party this year and they gave wonderful views of clusters, etc. I actually found that you can hand-hold them if seated. Over on cloudynights.com there has been a huge amount of discussion on the Skymasters -- all positive.

wise choice of binoculars, but dont fear, you dont get a long spell of cloud always, unless you have done something horrorable wrong and god is toying with your head, its a bit like fishing, you could catch nothing and the guys standing 5 feet to your left and right have cought 40 fish each. I was lucky, when I got my C11SctGT (april 2005) I got the first 4 or 5 nights clear! I was a good boy! The family of skymasters are an excellent range but the 20x80mm i don't like myself, the image isn't great when you look through them. I have the 25x100 Skymasters, excellent pair of binoculars and have brought many hours of pleasure to my eyes, but they tend to suffer with double vision, an egg is tougher! By the way great deal on the package, AI sell them for more without the tripod! I like my binoculars but you may want to change the tripod, and unsteady images just torment me! I ended up with 1300 euros worth of a tripod for my 25x100.

Nice purchase there John, I had an opportunity to buy these a few weeks ago, but I already have a pair of 9x60's. I had a pair of these in my hands last weekend, nice and lightweight, with a 4.4 degree field of view.
Best of luck with them
Keith..
