Er....no. The Observatory Director did not study every single word in the manual. I'll have to give him the boot me thinks...

When I wanted to change the direction of rotation of the DEC axis, I was pressing the "N/S". However, this button has two features - a short press and a long press. The long press tells the mount to change the direction of the gears. A short press tells the software to which directon North is.

Anyway, I'm a bit more relaxed this morning!

That's good news Michael - I guess these technological marvels are so complicated that a simple mistake is really hard to figure out.

Its good that at least the mount wasn't faulty - a testament to Gemini. I'm glad you're sacking the Director

thats a relief !!, what a weird function to have using those buttons, might be better to have another button on the software panel for that function.

The observatory director needs to be sent to Hungary for a comprehensive course on mount operations. :lol:
