If memory serves me correct, the price is around $2k - which is daft IMHO if you were willing to pay that kind of money, get me a pair of canon image-stabilised binos any day.

You could make one of them for a few Euros with a few cheap motors and a home made hand paddle.

Crossed my mind too Peter. The thing is you'd need some bearings with serious load capacity. But they can be got! hmmmm
