Does anyone know if the Meade dovetail mounting compatable with Celestron attachment

just a note, last time i was in Astronomy Ireland, they offered me the Celestron C6N for under 500 euros! cant remember if that came with the CG5 mount , but if it does, it would be a much better option , IMO, but the motorised mount of the mede may be worth the extra green

I have the 8 inch SN Meade LXD 75, excellent scope. Think it may have been pointed out already, but the basic newtownian is not GOTO, it has a motorised mount for tracking etc, but don't think it is a GOTO scope with the autostar etc.

Its a bit confusing.

According to the instruction manual for the LXD75 series their 6" Newtonian has a supplied Autostar controller:

Perhaps they are not "supplied accessories" after all.

If that is so, at least it can be UPGRADED to Autostar GOTO.

Just to clear this up.
I talked to the manager in my local Lidl.

The scope ia a Meade LXD 75 N-6EC 6" Newtonian.
It comes with the #497 Autostar Controller,
26mm eyepiece & Battery pack holder.

I'm delighted it comes with this controller,
now I won't have to keep swapping it over from my ETX125.
