I think you might be picking me up wrong there, its best to know what you're looking at before you buy it, I'm not putting down the LXD at all, I just thought it might have been 5-10 arcminutes accurate, thats all. In fact I ended up getting the etx70 and skywatcher scopes they had before, very nice quick and easy scopes.
I'd just like to know from others out there who already have a LXD75, what is their honest view of it. I've seen views on the web, but I'd rather get views from people here.

It's the one with all the buttons. (#497 )Which autostar do you get with this, the cheapo one or the one with all the buttons ???
Did you not already have this one from when you got the ETX70?

Hi John,
I think you might be picking me up wrong there, its best to know what you're looking at before you buy it, I'm not putting down the LXD at all, I just thought it might have been 5-10 arcminutes accurate, thats all. In fact I ended up getting the etx70 and skywatcher scopes they had before, very nice quick and easy scopes.

I've the LXD55 and as I said before with th 10" SN and counterweights the mount struggles a bit. Granted the 10" + counterweights is 60lbs!
Now my normal setup is to have the 10" in a Dob mount and use a 4" mak on the LXD55. Provided the mount is level and you have made any sort of decent attempt at polar aligning, and you do the autostar aligning procedure (methods vary!) your gotos should be accurate to a mid power eyepiece. The autostar lets you then center the object and 'confirm' its location which should improve subsequent searches.
I've never tried anything more than 30 second exposures with the mount and webcam images so I can't really comment on how suitable it is for long duration photography. The LXD55 had no (easy?) menas for autoguiding, that may have changed in the 75.
The 75 is a beefed up version of the 55 which I have, so I dont have experience of the improvements made.
If you want a good goto mount able to carry moderate weights I'd reccomend this based on my experience with the LXD55.

At this price it's amazing value and is a shocking half the cost of the direct Celestron competitor (C6N on ASGT) + judging by other reports I've the ASGT is only very slightly better.
Assuming of course that it is the full LXD75 mount, which it seems to be.
If I didn't have the ASGT I'd jump at this for the mount alone.
