Does it have all the bits?

I don't think so. That's a Schmidt Newtonian - in other words it has a corrector plate. The one Lidl are advertising is described as Newtonian - the open tube version. I'm off to Lidl to get the up to date catalog.

OK, now that I've seen the catalog it could be the SN6-AT (US price $999). The blurb clearly states that the Autostar #497 is included.

It could also be be the N6-AT with Autostar as currently sold in the US (for $799) because the catalog carries only the vague description 'Newton lens' and the images don't include one that clearly shows whether or not there's a Schmidt corrector plate.

In either case since it includes Autostar it does appear to be good value for money.

It's the N6. Comparing the catalog to the Meade website I've noticed that Lidl are advertising that it has a 6x30 finder, which only comes on the N6.

The one in the telescope house page is it, notice the 3 vain spider holding the secondary mirror which you dont have when there is a corrector, this scope is not a schmidt anything. Its a good auld newt.

That works out at 1328 euros not including shipping, the lidl price is really amazing, if only there were scopes like that when I was starting off.
