Trevor,

I must relocate to Ireland so as to have access to all of these offers from LIDL. This year the offer locally (so far) is a toy microscope.

The ETX70 is an inexpensive starter GoTo for anyone who doesn't already have something more advanced.

The Bresser 70/700mm I already have. The mount is very similar to the Astro3 and should carry up to 3kg. For 60 Euro it alone would be good value if you already have a favourite small scope to put on it (adaptors can be found on various websites, my favourite is www.telescope-service.com ). The refractor itself is good for the price.

We get a slightly different selection up North.

Binos, yes £13.99, Skylux, yes £39.99. No ETX-70 this year however we are getting the 90mm spotting scope at £99.99 which looks like a bargain for terrestial use and perhaps taking on holiday.

Believe me Anthony, when you compare the blue daylight skies and star spangled night skys of Greece to the windy, cloudy, rainy Irish skies you will SWIM home to sunny Greece.
