I'd guess you'd be looking at €5 - 8k (delivered) for a fiberglass dome, and closer to €15k for an Ash dome (which are metal). I really wanted a copper Ash dome (to go with the historic house), but it was going to come out significantly north of that even.
There are also polyethelene domes entering the market (certainly ExploraDome, and possibly SkyPOD?) which I believe are less dear (perhpas €3 - 5k delivered).

Dave --....
I think a dome would probably be more expensive, but I don't know how much more.

Jeff - are the walls and electrics extra? Or is 5-8K exclusive of those costs...
Cheers

I've been playing with CatSpy webcam security. It's a bit basic but free and does what it says on the tin. It can detect motion and start recording to your HD for later review. I'm looking around for a package that will also send me a text/picture alert to my mobile when the camera and/or alarm detects a break in. If anyone knows of any packages that do this, sing out!
BTW, eBay is a great place for getting ultra-cheap webcams - even with IR. 640x480 at 30fps + IR illumination for just a couple of euros! The really expensive ones are almost 20 euros! I reckon on getting a handful of them and scattering them around, inside and outside the dome for security and visual confirmation of remote-issued commands.
Phil.
PS - See you in Galway, I hope!

I'd also alarm it and put in an IR motion camera (both for watching the scope and imaging any scumbags for CrimeWatch).

Electrics extra. Walls -- depends on who you go with. Some of the smaller (< 10') domes certainly come with walls at that price, and if you don't need to stand up inside the dome then even the 10' models could probably squeak in under that ceiling.
A 10' fiberglass dome with enough wall rings to stand up in most of the interior (such as Eamonn's) would probably run 9 - 10k air-shipped to Ireland.

That's cheap Phil! I'll see you in Galway.
Jeff - for that kind of price differential (dome = 2*price of a RORO) I'll really have to do my homework and see if the dome justifies the price tag. Thanks for the data - its very useful.
